Nowadays, with highly competitive offline and online shopping environments, “Average Basket Size” has become a key metric that helps brands understand customer purchasing behavior and improve strategies to effectively increase sales. Royal Canin aimed to increase “Average Basket Size” through a branded merchandise giveaway strategy designed to engage customers and encourage them to purchase higher quantity of pet food at events and authorized retailers.
Royal Canin commissioned us to produce a 4-wheel shopping bag at more than 2,500 pieces featuring Plaifah Postcard, an Thai artist and lifestyle brand owner. The artwork by Plaifah was hand-painted with acrylics and then scanned into a computer. This OEM-designed accessory was developed for event giveaways and retail use. Projects of this nature can be complex. The Pantone in each area needed to be aligned and matched with the design. We advised the customer against applying the artwork to all surfaces, as this would have made the overall design visually overwhelming.
Royal Canin and our team worked closely together on the color match for this shopping bag by selecting the Pantone references in each area. We created more than 3 versions before reaching the final approved artwork. We did color proofing to ensure all parts of the bag were aligned and matched. After we agreed on the mock-up, we start producing the sample which took approxiamtely 10-15 days to complete.
Version 1: We suggested the customer to use a solid color on the lid & the sides.
We made sure the strip would not obstruct the pets in the design
Version 2
We placed the solid colour on the sides, base, and top
Version 3
Adjusting the colour of the sides to make it more appealing and engaging to the customer
We produced each part of the bag and worked on Pantone proof to make sure it aligned and matched perfectly.
We did color proofing in each area: handle, lid, bottom
